Curriculum

We at Little Light Of Mine Daycare And Learning Center base our curriculum on the "Experience" educational approach.  The program is a set of guiding principles and practices that teachers follow as they work with and care for children.  These principles are a framework that we are able to adapt to the special needs of each individual child.  We believe that children learn best through active experiences with people, materials, events and ideas, rather than through direct or sequenced exercises.  Children are encouraged to make choices, explore, ask and answer questions, solve problems, and interact with classmates and adults.  "Experience" takes an academic slant with planned experiences in the basic subjects of math, reading, and science.  It is based on past and current development research.
